We hope you’ve been enjoying the daily STEAM Challenges we’ve been sharing on Facebook! Given the current situation (please be sure to wash your hands, practice social distancing and stay at home if you can!), we understand and can sympathize with the many parents who are trying to work from home while keeping their kids entertained. It’s literally doing two full-time jobs and it’s not easy.
In addition to the daily STEAM Challenges we’ve been sharing on social, we also encourage you to check out our Instant Challenge Shaker app.
This app is based on Destination Imagination Instant Challenges—fun, STEAM-based activities that must be solved in a short period of time (5-10 minutes) and help build kids’ collaborative problem solving skills. However, given the current situation, solo challenges are encouraged! Or, if you have 2 or more kids, try having them complete the Challenges together.
There are hundreds of potential combinations and ways to solve each Instant Challenge in our app. The app also includes a Materials List on the homescreen, as well basic instructions. There are 10 materials needed to complete the Instant Challenges: pencil, plastic cup, spatula rubber band, cardboard tube, plastic bag, can of soup, deck of cards, paper plate and foil. Please feel free to modify the list based on what you have available!
