Last week, Destination Imagination had the honor of participating in Partnership for 21st Century Learning’s (P21) Skills for Today week.

P21’s Skills for Today week emphasizes how 21st century learning and particularly the 4Cs –communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity – empower all learners to gain the skills they need for college, career, and life success.

Beyond School
Beyond School programs have long included tactics for promoting the development of 4Cs in children. P21 convened experts and leaders from the Beyond School community to share how they promote the 4Cs in their work.

Experts on the Beyond School: Learning Beyond Walls and Bells webinar panel included Scott Wunn (moderator), Executive Director of the National Speech and Debate Association; Stephan Turnipseed, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Destination Imagination, Inc.; April Dennis, Program Director of Future Problem Solving Program International; and Tom Rosenberg, CEO of the American Camp Association.

In the Teaming Up on STEAM Opportunities webinar, P21’s panel of experts discussed the importance of STEAM in Early Learning, K-12, and Beyond School environments, as well as promoting effective partnerships between schools and companies that encourage and support children on a pathway to careers in STEAM.
