Today is the inaugural International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology communities as well as to inspire and encourage more girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
According to a study conducted in 14 countries, the probability for female students of graduating with a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and Doctor’s degree in science-related field are 18%, 8% and 2% respectively, while the percentages of male students are 37%, 18% and 6%.
Change is coming, slowly but steadily, and Destination Imagination is proud to further efforts to inspire and encourage the next generation of girls and women who will transform lives in STEM fields.
